Donna Florence Sitler

Donna Florence Sitler, 86, of Moline, IL, died Friday, December 16, 2016, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service on Friday, December 23, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016, at the funeral home.   Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established, Salvation Army, or to the River Bend Food Bank.

Donna was born on August 30, 1930, in Moline, IL, the daughter of James Donald and Dorothy Charlotte Arnold Swales.  She married Kenneth “Ken” Duane Sitler on June 18, 1951, in Moline, IL.  She worked as a playground supervisor for Butterworth School and a bookkeeper for Moline Consumers.

Donna was a longtime election judge and lifetime member of the PTA.  She also enjoyed playing Bridge and was a great cook.  Above all, Donna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Sitler; children, John (Karen) Sitler, Washington, IL, Gary Sitler, Hoffman Estates, IL, Edward (Sharon) Sitler, Knoxville, TN; 2 grandchildren, Shawn (Nancy) Sitler and Mathew (Kaitlin) Sitler; 4 great grandchildren, Trisia, Alexander, Malachi, and Ezra.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Barton Swales; and infant brother, William Dale.
