Doris L Anderson of Rock Island, IL arrived safely and peacefully in heaven on Friday morning, April 15, 2011 after fighting the good fight and completing the race.
Doris's funeral will be Monday, April 18, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd, 6601 38th Avneue, Moline. The service will be preceded at 9:30 A.M. with a short visitation and viewing. Her body will be laid to rest in a private burial at Rose-Lawn Memorial Estate, next to her beloved Arnold.
Doris was born November 19, 1917. She married Arnold on July 2, 1949. Doris retired from Eagle Signal in Moline, IL. She was a long-time member of Bethany Baptist Church in Moline, IL to whom memorials may be made.
Doris was a woman of faith before the phrase became popular. Doris was a devoted wife, whose husband, Arnold, of 59 years preceded her in glory; as did her sisters Gladys and Ollie Mae Landen, who along with Doris made up the famous "Landen Trio". Word from heaven tells us the trio is re-united and in perfect harmony once again with Arnold accompanying on the guitar.
Doris did not fear death for she knew with absolute surety that Jesus loved her because the Bible told her so. She would want you to live with that same rock solid faith in Jesus Christ as personal savior. Earth's loss is now heaven's gain, as it should be. To God be all the glory!
