Doris Edman, age 87 of Sun Lakes, AZ, formerly of Orion, IL, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. 1301-4th Street, Orion. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial is at Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to Sun Lakes Fire District, Esperanza Lutheran Church, Phoenix, or Western Township Cemetery future care and beautification fund.
Doris was born November 6, 1923 in Jerseyville, IL, the daughter of James and Hazel Hollins McCance. She married Lloyd Edman on September 22, 1946 in Orion. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1986.
Doris attended Orion schools and graduated from Orion High School in 1942. She attended the Moline Institute of Commerce. Doris was employed at Deere & Company, and Columbia Furniture and Drapery. Doris had many joys in life including being active in the Sun Lakes Community. She participated in many activities including golf, cards, mahjong, bunco and watching sports on TV, particularly the Suns, the Diamondbacks and pro golf. Doris enjoyed gardening, cooking for loved ones, traveling, and watching her grandchildren become young adults
