Dorotha Lucille Ball Kirchner, 83, passed away October 3rd, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM at the home of her daughter. A celebration of her life is planned for Friday, March 23, 2018 at 5:30 P.M. at the Church of Christ in Muscatine, IA located at 3603 Mulberry Ave. where family and friends will gather to share their memories.
Dorotha was born May 8, 1934 near Joplin, MO to Oscar John Ball and Ruby Gail Maxwell Ball. She married Virgil A. Kirchner on July 8, 1951. Together they raised their 5 children on a beautiful family farm near Nichols, IA. They were members of the Church of Christ. Dorotha was a woman of God and loving Christian wife, mom, granny, and great-granny. She loved everyone unconditionally. Standing united with her husband, she passed down her strong faith and love of the Lord to her children and grandchildren.
Left to honor her memory are her children (and spouses) Vicky (Don) Bridges in Rogers, AR, David (Brenda) Kirchner in Rock Island, IL, Terry (Ken) Gibson in Herndon, VA, Laura (David) Jackson in Fayetteville, AR, and Lisa (Tim) Yerington in Albuquerque, NM; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all beautiful blessings; one sister, Charlotte (Jim) Jensen in Muscatine, IA, along with many nieces and nephews. Virgil, her husband of 52 years, passed away March 21, 2003. Also gone but always remembered are her parents and her siblings Annabelle Phelps Kempf, Juanita Wood, Donald Ball, and Nelson “Bud” Ball.
Offerings of remembrance may be made in Dorotha’s name to the Churches of Christ Diaster Relief Effort, Inc. at disasterreliefeffort.org/donate. Memorials may also be made to the Hands of Compassion Ministry of the Rochester, MN Church of Christ at hocrochester.com/donate and the Arkansas Support Network.
