Dorothy B. Nelson, 82, of Lynn Center, IL, died December 17, 2006 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to the church.
Dorothy was born November 7, 1924 in Geneseo, IL to Alfred and Minnie (Nightingale) Barton. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1942. She married Sterling "Stub" LaVern Nelson on September 21, 1946 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Geneseo. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2000.
Dorothy was an Avon represenative for 40 years. She was a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a lector and baked bread for the witness committee. She loved gardening and taking care of her home. She enjoyed making special meals for her family and baking cookies for her granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her two sisters Marilyn Newman and Ruth Rose.
