Dorothy L. Bjurstrom, 91 of Moline died January 21, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2004 at Faith Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
Dorothy Swanson was born February 12, 1912 in Monmouth, IL to Frederick Lawrence and Florence Bruyn Swanson. She married Arnold Bjurstrom on June 1, 1930 in Iowa City, IA. He prececed her in death on December 21, 1981.
Dorothy was the secretary to the athletic director at Moline High School and retired in 1973 after 30 years of service.
Dorothy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she served on the church council for many years. She was a former president for the Illinois Educational Secretary Association. She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association, Friends of Rock Island Library, district coordinator for AARP and a member of Fort Night Club.
