Dorothy E Farren

Dorothy E. Farren, 94, of East Moline, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday December 30, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Memorials may be given to her family for a fund to be established. 

Dorothy was born on April 1, 1929, in Durango, Colorado, the daughter of Clarence and Mabel (Rich) Bressler. She married Bernard Farren on March 9, 1951, in East Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2001. She had previously worked in the printing department at Royal Neighbors of America in Rock Island, retiring in 1989, after 30 years. Dorothy was a member of River City Church, Moline, where she attended the widows’ luncheons. She also attended the Moline Senior Activity Center.

Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Chance of Colona, Cheryl Bohnsack of Bettendorf; son, Russell (Joy) Farren of Hampton, IL; grandchildren, Teresa (Brent) Franklin of Georgia, Michael Farren of Hampton, Bobby (Trisa) Farren of Geneseo, Joshua Bohnsack of Dubuque; step grandchildren, Bill (Lazette) Chance Jr. of Chana, IL; 10 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; brothers, Allen Fitton of Largo, FL, Walter (Helena) Fitton of Peoria; many cousins including, Bob (Shirley) Fitton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Edward Fitton; husband; brothers, Robert, Dale and Delbert.
