Dorothy E Hamann

Dorothy E. Hamann, 94, formerly of Orion, IL, died Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Burlington Care Center, Burlington, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Dorothy's family for a fund to be established in her name. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dorothy was born on May 18, 1920, in Orion, IL, the daughter of Dallas and Inez Swanson Bergstrom. She married Edward C. Hamann on August 7, 1941, in Orion, and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1993. She always enjoyed working with her sister at Dairy K in Orion and visiting with the customers.

Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, WELCA, and Friendly Stitchers. She was also an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carol Hamann; sons-in-law, James Ramsay and Dr. Jeffrey B. Hamarstrom; grandsons, Doug Ramsay and Curtis Hamarstrom; brother, Joe Bergstrom; sisters, Vivian Boberg and Betty Kelsall.
