Dorothy M Mohr

Dorothy M. Mohr, 84, of Coal Valley, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.
Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38 Avenue, Moline. A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home and burial will be in the National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.
Dorothy was born on July 20, 1931 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Inez Sandlin Barton. She married Robert Mohr on May 4, 1952 in Peoria, Illinois.
Dorothy graduated from Bradley University and the Methodist School of Nursing in Peoria. She then became an Operating Room Nurse at Methodist before moving with her husband. She went on to teach nursing at St. Anthony's School of Nursing as well as work for various doctors, later becoming a Nursing Home Inspector for licensure with the State of Illinois. Upon moving to the Quad Cities, Dorothy became an Industrial Specialist with the Munitions Command on the Rock Island Arsenal.
In her younger years Dorothy was a talented wood carver and seamstress having made many wonderful things.
Survivors include her loving husband of almost 64 years.
