Dorothy M. Samuelson, 93, of Moline, IL, died Monday, May 08, 2017, at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to MGT New Hope Church.
Dorothy was born on February 21, 1924, in Rio Township, Knox County, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Sadie Lindquist Carlquist. She married Robert Etcher in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1947. She later married Harvey Samuelson in 1957 in Moline and he preceded her in death in 2002. She worked in accounting for Clearwater Sun Newspaper in Clearwater, FL.
Dorothy was a member of MGT New Hope Church and Open Bible Church. She especially loved to take rides with Harvey and spend time with her family. Dorothy was a sweet friend to all.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Besse, Erie, IL; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia “Trish” Volkman; son-in-law, Rodney Besse; sister, Marjorie.
