Dorothy Louise Peterson Witherspoon, 92, of East Moline, IL, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center - Silvis, IL.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Dorothy was born on October 16, 1921, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of George and Olga (Beyer) Peterson.
She married Marion Witherspoon in 1941.
Dorothy worked 21 years for DCFS and a few years for Bethany Home. She loved reading, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and most especially her family. Dorothy was one of the sweetest, kindest people ever. She will be GREATLY missed!

She was preceded in death by her son, M. William Witherspoon, in 1978.
