Dr. Patricia Ann Vickroy
June 25, 1955 — December 9, 2017
Dr. Patricia Ann Vickroy, 62, of Orion, IL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family late Saturday, December 9, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Orion Christian Church, 12312 US-150, Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Orion Christian Church.
Pat was born on June 25, 1955 in Moline, the daughter of Roger and Beverly Whitesides Vickroy. After growing up in South Africa, where her family were missionaries, she returned to the states where she graduated from Augustana College as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She completed her doctorate with The Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She was employed as a clinical psychologist at Dixon Correctional Center, where she was heavily involved with the only prison hospice program in the state.
Pat was a member of the Orion Christian Church. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. More than anything, she loved reading.
Survivors include her daughter, Chantal Milem Irish, and son-in-law, Dr. John Irish, Columbia, MO; grandchildren, John David Irish and Hazel Irish; sisters, Linda (Ron) Over, Preemption, IL, and Diane Welborn, Orion, IL; one niece; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Roger and Beverly Vickroy, and a brother-in-law, Jim Welborn.
