Duane E. Hudson, age 69, of Colona, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center- East Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial is at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, Duane requested that memorials go to his grandchildren's educational fund.
Duane was born June 11, 1944 in Galesburg, the son of Cecil and Beth (Nixon) Hudson.
Duane was employed at the former Turn Style and Venture stores as a manager. He retired as a retail and distribution salesman for the Minter-Weisman Company. Duane's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He liked to golf, play cards (especially euchre) and to spend time with his family and friends. Duane had the "gift of gab", and turned many strangers into friends. His sense of humor always created a special bond with his family and friends that will never be forgotten.
