Duane R. Rigg, 93, of Moline, died on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.
A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Military rites will be performed by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to the family.
Duane was born on October 12, 1920 in Macomb, Illinois the son of Zenith D. and Laura B. McGraw Rigg. He married G. Elaine Meyers on February 26, 1949 in Moline.
Duane was employed as a Railway Mail Clerk with the United States Postal Service retiring from the Rock Island Post Office on August 29, 1980.
Duane was a WWII Army Veteran. He was in the National Guard band in Macomb and loved big band music, having at one time played with Lawrence Welk. Duane also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his wife G. Elaine
