Earl D. Farren, age 67, of Moline, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 7 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. The Rev. Paul Lindblad of New Hope Foursquare Church will officiate. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Earl was born December 17, 1944 in Moline, the son of Loren and Anna Larson Farren.
Earl was a man of many talents. He was a Journeyman Electrician for 17 years, he was Broker/owner of Farren and Company Real Estate at which he was very successful and also owned and operated Auntie Ann's Pretzel stores in South Park and North Park Malls until 2006 when he retired. Earl's hobby was landscaping his beautiful yard which included a waterfall, large fish ponds with bridge and lamp poles and flowers all around. He was a lifetime member of Moline Gospel Temple, currently New Hope Foursquare Church, and served as a Deacon for many years.
Earl is survived by his son, Brock Farren, Moline; grandchildren, Jacob and Jaelynne Farren; brother, Ron (Bonnie), Davenport; sisters, Carolyne Franklin (Don), Moline and Ethel Dunblazier, Bettendorf; and special nephew, John Jason Severtgaard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters and his son Chad Dean Farren on 08/18/89.
