Earl L Hansen

Earl L. Hansen, 100, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022, in Silvis.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd, 6601 38th Ave, Moline, IL 61265.  Visitation will be an hour prior at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where military honors will be conducted.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Earl was born on July 20, 1921, in Ringsted, Iowa, the son of John and Sena (Hansen) Hansen. Earl worked at Eagle Signal before joining the US Army where he served over three years in the South Pacific. He received a bronze star for his service. After his service, he returned to Eagle Signal where he met his wife, Mary Lynn. They were married on July 10, 1942, in Moline. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2011. He also worked as a machine operator and inspector at John Deere, retiring in 1979, after 30 years.

Earl was a member of First Lutheran Church in Moline, the UAW 865 in East Moline, and a social member of the Vikings club. He enjoyed working on cars and being with his family. He was avid NASCAR fan and loved traveling to watch the Daytona Races. He also enjoyed spending his winters in Florida.

Survivors include his sons, Roy (Helen) Hansen, Moline, Lloyd (Cathe) Hansen, Moline, Chris (Colleen) Hansen, Moline; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Harold, and sister, Gladys McCloud.
