Earl V. Magee, 74, of Orion died May 15, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be 11a.m. Friday, May 18, 2007 at Orion United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery, Orion with military honors conducted by the Orion VFW #143. Memorials may be made to the Orion United Methodist Church or to his family for a fund to be established.
Earl was born June 20, 1932 in Richmond, MO and raised by Robert and Audrey Magee. He married Mardell J. Littell on July 5, 1952 in Orion.
Earl was employed at Great Lakes Pipe Line, as a machine operator at Moline Accessories and later at John Deere. He retired in 1991 from the Orion School District where he was the transportation director for the Orion School Bus Barn.
Earl was an U.S. veteran serving in Austria during the Korean War. He was a member of Orion United Methodist Church and the Orion VFW Post #143. He was very proud of his Mickey Mouse, toy car, hat, and gnome collections. He enjoyed feeding squirrels and birds. He was an avid Cardinal fan and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He had also coached Little League Baseball. He liked listening to country music and he also liked to sing.
