Edward L. "Woody" Wood, 73, of Moline, died May 30, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Union Congregational Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave. Moline. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the church.
Woody was born April 29, 1936 in Moline to Edward J. and Agatha E. (Schell) Wood. He married Leone Helberg Wilhelm on September 5, 1987 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Clinton, IA.
Woody was a machine operator for Deere Harvester. He was a longtime member of AA having 31 years of sobriety. He attended Union Congregational Church where he was known as the "lawn mower man." He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family.
