Edwin W. "Budd" Reeder

Edwin W. "Budd" Reeder, 93, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2010 at 15th Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island. Visitation is from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to 15th Avenue Christian Church.
Edwin was born June 17, 1916 in Cherokee, IA, the son of Ralph J. and Hattie J. (Lindquist) Reeder. He married Millicent "Millie" Frey on February 11, 1938 in Rock Island.
Edwin was a Designer Engineer for Deere & Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of 15th Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island, where he was very active, serving as an elder, Chairman of the Board, choir member, Sunday school teacher, and elder emeritus. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Moline Lodge #1014 AF & AM and the KAABA Shrine. In the 1950's, he served as a Sea Scout leader for area youth. Edwin played the saxophone, organ and enjoyed sketching in his own art studio. He and his wife traveled extensively and wintered in Melbourne, FL. They were avid square dancers with the Quad Ranglers Group. Edwin liked to work in his yard, play bridge, and golf. He also made grandfather clocks. Edwin enjoyed spending time with his family and entertaning his grandchildren.
