Eileen V. Peterson, age 66 , of Coal Valley, passed away Friday, December 22, 2006 at Oak Glen Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. before services also at the church. . Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Orion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Social Services Department at Oak Glen Home. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion is assisting the family.
Eileen was born April 6, 1940 in rural Scott Co. IA. the daughter of Richard and Verna (Illian) Puck. She was united in marriage to Robert E. Peterson on May 29, 1971 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1999.
Eileen was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion; a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Orion VFW; and a former member of the Svithiod Club, Moline, IL. She loved Big Band music, especially that of Lawrence Welk. She enjoyed her family and friends and will be missed by all.
Survivors include two step-sons, David (Denise) Peterson, Colchester, IL and Ed (Penny) Peterson, Moline, IL.; four step-grandchildren and two step great- grandchildren; four sisters Leila Dittmer, Wheatland, IA.; Marlene Harmsen, Davenport, IA.; Veronna (Kenny) Sorgenfrey, Stockton, IA. and Jean (Wally) Kelding, Walcott, IA.
