Elizabeth "Bette" Irwin

Elizabeth “Bette” Irwin, 93, of Moline, died on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Generations at Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron, Illinois.

A funeral service will be 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38 Avenue, Moline.  Visitation will be from 3-5 at the funeral home.  Cremation will follow services and private burial will take place at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her family.

Bette was born on June 23, 1924 in Buffalo, Iowa the daughter of Russell and Elizabeth Downing Muller.  She married Charles E. Irwin on September 19, 1939 in Missouri.  He preceded her in death in July 2004.

Bette owned her own beautyshop in Geneseo, Illinois and later worked at Hillcrest Nursing.  She had a passion for horses and was a lifetime member of the Q.C. Arabian Horse Club.  She loved music and playing the piano but most of all was her love for her family.

Survivors include children, Donna (Jim) Stoltz, Moline, IL, Fran (Sam) Vincent, Monroe Center, IL, Elizabeth (Ron) Greim, Cambridge, IL, Marvel (Phil) Sundberg, Eagan, MN, 19 Grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren & 14 great great grandchildren, brother, Fritz Muller, Milan, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, a daughter, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a brother.
