Elizabeth "Liz" Litton, age 82, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 at Lighthouse Retirement Community in Silvis.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline with visitation one hour before the service. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Galva Cemetery, Galva, IL. Reverend Becky Sherwood of First Presbyterian Church of East Moline officiating. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of East Moline.
She was born in Kewanee, Il on July 1, 1927 to Gust and Anna Lazar Ptasnik. She graduated from Kewanee High School in 1945 and worked at JC Penney in Kewanee as a store and window decorator. She married Dean Litton in 1948, and they farmed in the Altona and Woodhull area for many years. She helped on the farm and drove a grain truck at harvest time. She had enjoyed painting pictures, sewing, gardening, quilting at United Church of Woodhull where she had been an active member for many years, teaching Sunday school, and leading Girl Scouts. She and her husband retired in 1985 and enjoyed spending winters in Arizona. They later moved to the Quad Cities and then to the Lighthouse in Silvis, IL in 2006. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in East Moline.
She is survived by her husband Dean, son Gary Litton and significant other Kathy Foley in Phoenix, AZ, daughter Luann (Dale) Demick in Davenport, grandchildren Shawn Demick, Iowa City, and Samantha Demick, Davenport, and a sister, Ann Kren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
