Ellis E. Benedict, age 91, of Moline, formerly of Silvis, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Colona. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Ellis was born February 24, 1921 in Ottumwa, IA, the son of James and Bertha Smith Benedict. He married Clovis Krueger on July 13, 1940 in Lancaster, MO. She preceded him in death on July 28, 2011.
Ellis worked for the John Morrell Company in Ottumwa, Gould Battery, Farmall, Orion High School, and in apartment management, last working in 1983. He was a United States Navy veteran. Ellis was an active member of First Baptist Church in Colona.
