Elmer F. Steinke, age 93, of Moline, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 A.M., Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4107-21st Avenue, Moline. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline.

Elmer was born September 3, 1916 in Moline, the son of Fred W. and Emma (Krueger) Steinke.
Elmer attended Moline High School and graduated from Moline Business College. He worked for the Government in Baltimore, and then for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Arsenal Island's Clock Tower, from where he retired after many years. He was member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, and attended Tuesday night Bible study there. Elmer was also a member of the Moline Photographic Club where he often exhibited his color slides from various travels throughout Europe. He loved gardening, swimming and bicycling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Edith McChesney and her husband, Donald.
