Emmaline “Emmy” Louise Davison, 90, of Sherrard, IL, passed away at Avonlea Retirement Home on August 2, 2017.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Kirk, Huggins and Esterdahl Funeral Home, 1301 4th Street, Orion, IL, with a visitation from 4:00 p.m.– 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Burial will be at Sherrard Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Sherrard Presbyterian Church.
Emmy was born on November 21, 1926, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Charles and Grace (Stirk) Youngquist. She married Robert “Bob” Davison, March 25, 1946, in Troy, Kansas. He passed away December 1, 1995. She was employed by the Sherrard School District for over 20 years and retired in 1991. Bob and Emmy were a large part of the New Windsor Drill Team family for 25 years. Emmy enjoyed bingo, mowing her yard, attending church services at the Sherrard Presbyterian Church, where she was an avid member, and she made over 100 batches of her world famous peanut brittle every year.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Betsy) Davison, Sherrard, Scott (Mary Ann) Davison, Davenport, IA; sister, Ellen Sowder, Seaton, IL; son in law, Curt Anderson, Sherrard; 8 grandchildren, Summer, Andy, Ashley, Jessica, Daniel, Vanessa, Emily, and Molly; 3 great grandchildren, Sabastian, Astrid, and Domenico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Robert; daughter, Deb Anderson; grandson, Uriah; 3 sisters; and parents.
