Eric J. Weintraut

Eric J. Weintraut, 74, of East Moline, passed away, September 14, 2024, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow services. A private burial of cremains will take place at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. 

Eric was born on March 29, 1950, in Oakland, CA, the son of Eva (Kofsky) and Donald Weintraut. He married Patricia L. McGonigal on April 1, 2000, in Moline, IL. Eric is a veteran, having served in the United States Navy. Eric enjoyed woodworking and crafting with Pat. He took great pride in his yard and loved his dogs. Eric loved to make people laugh, he was a major jokester and loved doing impersonations.

Survivors include his wife, Pat; daughters Erica (Junior) Lowry, Dawn (Steve) Atherton, and Maria Craig; grandchildren, Drake Lowry, Bryce Lowry, James Atherton, Tonya Freg, Jesse Atherton, Amanda Trujillo, Desiree Craig, Brandon Weintraut; siblings, Janet (Jim) Michaelsen, Liz Morrissey, Phillip (Zelda) Weintraut and Barb (Zeke) Zbleski; several nieces and nephews; and his dog Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Donald, and 3 brothers, Mathias, Gregory, and Marc Weintraut.
