Erica Lynn McAdams, 27, formerly of Moline, IL went home to be with her Lord on September 3, 2006 in Mettawa, IL.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Walk World Outreach Center,1450 Ave of the Cities, Silvis. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.
Erica was born January 11, 1979 in Rock Island, IL to Rochelle McAdams and Steve Hinton, but was raised by Rochelle and Mark Thornton.
Following her graduation from Moline High School in 1997, Erica enlisted in the United States Army. She then graduated from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and was assigned to Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, followed by Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Erica was a Heavy Wheel Transport Operator. She did two tours of duty in South Korea, returning from the second time in August 2006. During this time, Erica was on leave to visit her children Jewelry "Simone" McAdams, and Jaheim LeGore who reside in Moline with their grandparents, Mark and Rochelle Thornton.
The Moline basketball fans will probably remember Jewelry Simone's halftime antics around the basketball courts when her uncle Jay McAdams Thornton played for Moline High School and Augustana College.
