Ernest C. Peterson, 86, of Moline, died Friday, October 6, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Per his wishes there are no services and cremation has been accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory handling arrangements.
Ernest was born August 8, 1931, in Moline, to Ernest and Gladys Freeberg Peterson. He was a 1949 graduate of Moline High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving at an air base in Morocco during the Korean War.
Ernest married Kathryn Minard, July 12, 1960, in Moline.
He was employed as Traffic Control Manager for the City of Moline for 25 years retiring in 2001. Prior to that time he was employed for 20 years in the Engineering Department of Eagle Signal Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, daughter Kathleen (David) Goetsch of LeClaire, Iowa, 3 grandsons; William (Sara) Heeney, Davenport, Christopher Heeney, Davenport, and John (Renee) Heeney, Bettendorf and 4 great grandchildren.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Darrell.
