Esther B. Heath, age 84, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at Colona House, East Moline
Out of deep love and concern for her family, it was Mrs. Heath's personal request that private services be held for only the immediate family. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, Moline or the American Cancer Society. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Esther was born January 17, 1923 in Moline, the daughter of Christian and Christine (Sorenson) Sparling. She married 2 nd. Lt. R.J. Woodward (USAAC) in California in 1943. He was later killed in action. She later married M.E. Heath.
Esther was employed as a cashier at the Rock Island Arsenal for 10 years, last working in 1984. She also worked at Barbers Point, Hawaii from 1979-1980. Esther graduated from Moline High School. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. She also was a member of Goldstar Wives of America. In her younger years, Esther was an avid bowler. She enjoyed reading, knitting amd playing cards. Esther was active with her daughters in the 4 H Club and she was a Brownie leader. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
