Ethel Viola Elliott

Ethel Viola "Vi" Holmquist Elliott of Moline, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Kahl Home for Aged & Infirm, Davenport.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Quad City Area Aids Foundation, Davenport, IA, to First Lutheran Church, Moline, or Jewish Holocaust Foundation.
Mrs. Elliott was born April 15, 1918 in Moline, daughter of Carl W. and Emelia Holmquist. She married George F. Elliott III on November 24, 1951. She was preceded in death by her husband and their son, Carl William "Cal", a brother Henry Holmquist and a sister, Vendla Salmonson.
Vi was formerly involved with the Blackhawk Hiking Club, Tri-City Garden Club, Lutheran Hospital Befriender's Program, Quad City Friends of Jung and First Lutheran Bible Study Group. She was a current member of Lutheran's Concerned.
Mrs. Elliott is survived by her son, George IV and Mimzi of Moline, two grandsons, George V of Chicago and Benjamin P. of Port Byron, sister-in-law, Martha Helmig of Yorktown, VA. niece, Patricia McGovern of Richland, WA. She is also survived by special friends Ila Ruggles, Barb Elmegreen, Elizabeth Swanson and Bill Bean.
