Ethel M Weckel, 86, of Lynn Center went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 16, 2010 at Hillcrest Home.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be Monday, March 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Kirk, Huggins and Esterdahl, Orion. Pastor Dave Knudsen will officiate. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 21 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Home or The Kidney Foundation.
Ethel was born Oct 3, 1923 in Chicago, the daughter of Bernard and Florence Senne. She met the love of her life, Robert at age 13. They married at age 19 on Aug 30, 1943 at First Christian Church, Moline.
She assisted her husband in building homes and farming. Ethel was active in PTA and school activities. She taught Sunday school and led Bible studies and prayer meetings.
Ethel loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 66 years; daughters Lua Aline, Laine Lundberg, Lynn (Dave) Doy, Lonna (Bob) Bostic and Laura (Mike) White; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
