Evelyn "Suzy" M Bergstrand

Evelyn M. “Suzy” Bergstrand passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Genesis Medical Center – Illini Campus, Silvis.

Services will be at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, 3303 60th St, Moline, on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 11 a.m.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.  Rev. Mark Frazee will officiate.  Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Homewood Evangelical Free Church or Youth Hope, both of Moline.  Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Evelyn Clarke was born in Silvis on December 21, 1925, the daughter of John and Hattie Swanson Clarke.  She graduated from UTHS in 1943.  She married Vernon Bergstrand September 4, 1945 and they were married 67 years.  She retired from American Air Filter as Secretary to the plant manager.  She was a charter member of Homewood Evangelical Free Church and was a member of their White Cross.  She enjoyed reading, entertaining and quilting.

Surviving are 4 sons: Tom (Julie) from, Leominster, MA, Richard (Dee) from Columbia, MO.  Ron (Marcia) from East Moline, IL. and Jack (Cynthia) from Atlanta, GA.  9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.  Preceding her in death was her husband, parents, a sister, brother and grandson.
