Everett L. Paxton

Everett L Paxton, 98, of Silvis, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis.

A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.  Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Memorials may be made to the family.  In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.

Everett was born on July 24, 1923, in Linby, IA, the son of Roy and Ethel Wiseman Paxton.  He married Lois I. Crane on July 22, 1944, in Farson, Iowa and she preceded him in death on April 20, 2014.

Everett was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during WWII.  He worked as an assembler for John Deere retiring in 1988.  Everett enjoyed creating stained glass, yard work and camping.  He also enjoyed wintering in Texas.

Survivors include his sons, William and Teresa Paxton of Silvis and Donald and Jeannie Paxton of Kansas City, Missouri.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren and a brother, Clayborn “Parker” Paxton of Packwood, Iowa.

He was preceded by his wife, 1 grandson, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
