F. Earl Ash, 80, of Colona died April 5, 2006 at Aspen Rehab and Health Care, Silvis, IL surrounded by his family.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2006 at Colona United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. with a Masonic service at 5:30p.m conducted by Clement Lodge No. 680 AF & AM, Colona at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave. Moline. Burial will be in Dayton Cemetery, Colona with military rites conducted by Colona American Legion. Memorials may be made to Colona United Methodist Church, Colona Food Pantry or Colona Fire Department.
Earl was born May 30, 1925 in Trenton, MO to Fred and Grace (Boring) Ash. He married Evelyn Parker on March 7, 1947 in Trenton, MO.
Earl was president of the former Henry County Bank, a job he dearly loved. He was employed at the bank for 25 years starting when it opened. He retired in 1991.
Earl was a WWII Navy veteran. After serving in the Navy, he went onto college at the University of Missouri in Columbia where he graduated.
Earl was a member of Colona United Methodist Church. He was a member and Past Master of Clement Lodge No. 680 AF & AM, Colona, IL, life member of Moline Consistory, charter member of Colona Lions Club, and 50 year member of Colona American Legion. He was on several community boards including Colona town council, Project Now and 911. He also volunteered at the local food pantry.
Earl was known for his passion for helping and serving others. He took pride in living in the community of Colona.
