Faye Carol Lake, 80, of Colona, died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. The procession to the cemetery will be leaving the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice.
Carol was born on March 19, 1927, to James and Helen (Bailor) Gilmore in Omaha, Neb. She married William H. Lake on November 20, 1950.
Carol spent her life caring for her family and her home.
In recent years, Carol found great joy in her great-granddaughter and namesake, Samantha Faye Hancks. Carol loved flowers.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; daughter and spouse, Vickie and Murray Hancks, Geneseo; son and spouse, Brian and Bernadette Lake, East Moline, and son, Michael Lake, Somerville, Ala.; grandsons, Matthew ( and spouse Stephanie) Hancks, Rock Island; Jeffrey Hancks, Macomb, IL.; and Kyle Lake and James Lake, East Moline; great-granddaughter, Samantha Faye Hancks, Rock Island; sister, Katharyn Thompson, Las Vegas, Nev.; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Caryle Gilmore, Junction City, Kan.; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Gilmore, Lincoln, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack Gilmore and William Gilmore.
