F. “Katie/Kay” Dodds, 93, of Silvis, IL, died Monday, December 04, 2017, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, IL.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of her son, Tom, or to QC Paws, in honor of her daughter, Mary.
Katie was born on December 12, 1923, in Franklin, IL, the daughter of Justin and Mabel A. Jones Luttrell. She married Clyde T. Dodds on May 8, 1943, in Davenport, IA, and he preceded her in death on December 18, 1991, in Apache Junction, AZ. Katie was a homemaker and in her later years, worked for Walgreens.
Katie was a member of First Baptist Church in Moline, Women’s Auxiliary VFW Post 8890 in East Moline, Elk’s Lodge in Colona, and the Moose Lodge in Rock Island. She and her husband were foster parents to numerous girls in the 1970’s.
Katie enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, camping, fishing, Bingo, and all things Elvis. More than anything, she loved her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Jackie Debowski, Frisco, TX; daughter-in-law, Sandy Dodds, East Moline, IL; brother, Bill (Helen) Hayes, Grayson, KY; sisters, Judy Westerdahl, Moline, IL, Carol (Jerry) Burgess, Winfield, AL, and Darlene Pauls, Seaford, VA; grandchildren, Kathy Reedy, Dawn Wolf, Kelly Stegh, David Dodds, and Steven Evans; great grandchildren, Nicholas Reedy, Taylor Reedy, Alex Reedy, Madisson Willard, Riley Dodds, Owen Stegh, Leah Stegh, Steven Evans, Jr., Brooklyn Evans, Michael Wolf, and Blake Wolf ; 3 great great grandchildren, Isabella Reedy, Mason Reedy, and Bridgett Wolf; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tom Dodds; daughter, Mary Evans; sisters, Margaret Rose, Dorothy Mosher, and Naomi Marie Luttrell; 1 brother, Lester Luttrell.
