Flora Mae Asplund, 84, of Moline, IL died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.
A Memorial Service will be held in the spring at a later date. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an account established at Deere Harvester Community Credit Union for her grandchildren's education fund. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Flora was born on May 7, 1927 in Tulon, IL to Horace "Bud" and Luella (Mock) Hackwith. She married William D. Asplund on February 14, 1948 in Moline. He preceded her in death on August 15, 2000 in Rock Island, IL. Flora worked in Production Control for Deere & Co. where she was famous for her Pecan Rolls. She was a member of Viking's Club in Moline and Act One Single's Group of Moline.
