Florence "Verle" Wallin, age 92, formerly of Rural Township, Coal Valley, IL died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Visitation is from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Monday at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. 1301-4th Street, Orion. Burial is in Rural Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion.
Verle was born December 29, 1914 on Clear View Farm in Rural Township, Coal Valley, IL. the daughter of Walter and Bessie (Long) Beck. She married Kenneth R. Wallin on December 25, 1940 in Orion. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1994.
Verle was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church Orion, WELCA of the church. She also belonged to the Rock Island County Farm Bureau,; the Sherrard Future Farmers of America Alumni Association; Rural Go Getters and Rural True Blues; Sherrard Band Boosters and Rural Community Club. Verle enjoyed many activities including dances, card clubs and her children and grandchildren's activities.
