Floyd Baker

Floyd E. Baker, 97, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Rosewood Care Center of Moline, Moline, IL.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2015, at Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Avenue, Orion, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Floyd was born on September 14, 1918, in Cooper Hill, MO, the son of George L. and Effie Owens Baker. He married Mary E. Woolley on August 5, 1942, in Hannibal, MO, and she preceded him in death on January 1, 1968.

Floyd lived to camp and fish. He was a member of the Pheasant Runner Camping Club. His family would like to thank the Pheasant Runner Camping Club for taking care of him.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary (Al Durbin) Snyder, East Moline, IL; grandson, Don (Becky) Snyder, Satellite Beach, FL; great granddaughter, Brianna Snyder, Lexington Park, MD; great grandson, Sean Wallace, Le Claire, IA; great great granddaughter, Reagen; best friend, Esther Bloemsma, Moline, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; and second wife, Dorothy Johnson.
