Francis O. "Hank" Creger died peacefully in his home on November 18, 2006, after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. where Rock Island Masonic Lodge 658 A.F. & A.M. will conduct a service at 6:00 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial is in National Cemetery, Rock Island with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #246.
Francis was born January 8, 1923 in Rock Island, the son of Orville W. and Viola M.(Baker) Creger. He married Lois Catherine Erb on November 15, 1947 in Chicago, IL, and they recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.
Francis was an Army World War II Veteran of the European Theatre, Company D, 260th Infantry, 65th Division. He attended the University of Michigan School of Engineering, and retired from John Deere & Company in 1985 as a Senior Engineer, after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Rock Island Masonic Lodge 658 A.F. & A.M.
