Frank Joseph Dudzik, 88, of Moline, IL, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 7, 2012 in his favorite city, Moline.
There will be a Mass to celebrate his homecoming at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at Christ the King Church, 3205 60th Street, Moline, with Father Donald Levitt presiding. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be immediately following the service at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Bridging the Gap QCA, Inc.
Frank was born on June 18, 1923 in Garden Track, IL the son of the late Andrew and Anna Dudzik. He married Janeen Bishop on February 1, 1947 in Cleveland, OH. She preceded him in death on April 17, 1988. Master Sergeant Dudzik, a 1941 graduate of East Moline High School, served in the United States Marine Corps during both WWII and the Korean War. He worked Ordnance for Marine Bombing Squadron VMB 613. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps on December 31, 1960. Mr. Dudzik was a 60 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America providing his great skill and workmanship throughout the Quad City area.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shirley Dudzik of Warner Robins, GA; son, Michael Dudzik, Davenport, IA; daughter, Christine Dudzik, Chicago, IL; son, Stephen (Ellen) Dudzik, Taylor Ridge, IL; grandson, Andrew Dudzik, Berkeley, CA; beloved granddaughters, Anna Dudzik and Abbey Dudzik, Taylor Ridge, IL; sister, Carol Zelnio, Moline, IL; brother, John (Helen) Dudzik, East Moline, IL; stepchildren, Leslie (Michael) Cleary and their children, Luke and Thomas; Richard (Dana) Jones and their children Paul, Chris and Jesi; Carol (Steve) Chandler and their children, Nelson and Jack; Nancy (Chris) Deighan and their children, Trace, Erica, Trent, and Emily. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ann Jablon, Mary Bishop, and two infant sisters, Rose Marie and Helen Dudzik.
