Frank William Jirak, Jr., 78, of Sherrard, formerly of Forked River, NJ, died November 10, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 with a visitation from 2-3 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. Orion. Burial will be in Glennwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA. Memorials may be made to Rock Island County Animal Care and Control.
Frank was born June 28, 1931 in Darby, PA to Frank W. and Vera C. (Palmer) Jirak, Sr. He married Vivian Marie Leitch on April 21, 1951 in Philadelphia. She preceded him in death on November 6, 1994.
Frank was a machinist/maintenance mechanic for 20 years for Ciba-Geigy. He retired in 1991.
One of Frank's side jobs was being a Harley-Davidson mechanic for Philadelphia Harley Davidson. He was affiliated with the Corsairs Harley Davidson's Club, Fish Hawks Fishing Club of Tom's River, N.J. and National Rife Association.
He is survived by Daughter Donna-Lee (Tony) Rissetto of Sherrard, IL; Son William Paul (Cindy) Jirak of Deltona, FL; Sister Delores (Kenneth) Player ofHoney Brook, PA; Grandchildren Frank W. (Tracey) Jirak, IV of Glenolden, PA, Jennifer Jirak of Glenolden, PA, Hollie Jirak of Deltona, FL and William Jirak of Springfield, PA; Several great grandchildren; Companion Gretchen. He was preceded in death by wife, son Frank W. Jirak III, parents, and his brother Raymond.
