Frank W. De Vrieze , age 72 of Rock Island, died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Per his wishes, there will be no services and cremation rites have been accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Frank was born January 19, 1935 in Rock Island, the son of Frank and Helen De Vrieze. He married Marilyn Fjellbo on December 19, 1953 in Rock Island.
Frank was a self-employed contractor. He was a sports official for football, basketball, and softball. Frank was also a Big 10 official for women's basketball and for the Women's College World Series of softball. He was a past Jaycee " Man of the Year" and past president of the Rock Island Evening Lion's Club. Frank also enjoyed his annual golf trip to Texas.
