Fred E. Hancock, 99, of Cambridge died August 3, 2009 at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Geneseo.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2009 with a visitation one hour prior at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. Burial will be in Glennwood Cemetery, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to Cambridge Methodist Church where he was a member.
Fred was born December 22, 1909 in Moline to George and Minnie (Miller) Hancock. He married Eleanor G. Colvin on November 1, 1939 in Maquoketa, IA. She preceded him in death on January 31, 1991.
Fred farmed in the Colona area. After his retirement, he was a truck driver for 15 years with the Geneseo Co-op.
Fred was a former member of Green River Methodist Church. He and his wife enjoyed traveling after his retirement.
