Frederick Rodriguez

Frederick Rodriguez, 83, of Lynn Center, IL, died Thursday, February 8, 2018, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2018, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th St., Orion, IL.  Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until the service, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal.  In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Orion Lions Club.

Frederick was born on August 27, 1934, in Dodge City, KS, the son of Antonio R. and Petra Esquibel Rodriguez.  He married Jane Escalada on December 26, 1959, in Dodge City, KS.  He worked as a machine operator for Farmall, retiring in 1989.

Frederick was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Army from 1952-1960.  He attended the 2nd National Jamboree of Boyscouts of America in 1950, held in Valley Forge, PA.  Frederick was an avid bowler, enjoyed yardwork, maintaining an immaculate yard, and attending his grandkids sports events.

Survivors include his wife, Jane; two daughters, Stella Rodriguez and Mona (Bob) Mitton; one son, Fred (Mary) Rodriguez; nine grandchildren, Nick (Tracie), Stefanie, Jamie, Larissa (Chris), Sami, Josh, Tony (Brittnee), Kyle, and Elijah; ten great grandchildren, Jonathan, Jaret, Keane, Kadence, Kylie, Jelisa, Alandra, Jaydn, Xavyor, Zayne, and expecting #11 due in May, and #12 due in August; four sisters, Stella, Lillian (John), Gloria (Eddie), and Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daniel, brother-in-law, Tony Rojas; nephew, Tony Rojas; and numerous aunts and uncles.
