Gary "Griss" Lee Grissom

Gary Lee “Griss” Grissom, 78, of Moline, passed away, Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Toulon Healthcare and Rehab, Toulon.

A private graveside service will be held at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.

Gary was born on July 20, 1942, in Moline, the son of Willard and Delfene (Viano) Grissom.  He married Lois A. Hall on January 12, 1963.  Gary and Lois met in kindergarten. They were just ten years old when he first told her that they would one day marry.

Gary graduated from Black Hawk College with an associate degree and later retired as a pipefitter from Local Union #25.

Gary loved to ride motorcycles, fish, and golf.  As time went on and his family grew, his time was spent loving and playing with his beloved grandchildren.  Gary was a wonderful father and loving husband who was always ready to lend a helping hand and support his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; children, Sara (Stephen) Rowe, and Scott (Lisa) Grissom; grandchildren, Brandon (Morgan) Rowe, Elliana Rowe, Dawson Rowe, Alexander Grissom, Jaina Grissom, Nora Grissom; great-grandchild, Theo Bradley Scott Rowe.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cheryl Cufaude.

Gary will be dearly missed.
