Gayle E. Bealer

Gayle E Bealer, 79, of Rock Island, passed away April 17, 2025, at her home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday April 22, 2025, at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church or UnityPoint Hospice. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., is assisting the family.

Gayle was born on September 25, 1945, in Greenport, New York, the daughter of Robert K. and Mary M. (Heaney) Wilburn. She married Reuben P. Tinney in 1965. He preceded her in death in 1988. She later married Ronald Leigh and William Bealer. Gayle had worked as a nurse with Dr. Quinby at Medical Arts, retiring in 2009.

Gayle was an involved member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She loved to crochet and watch the Chicago Blackhawks. Gayle had a very fun, sarcastic, and witty sense of humor. She loved to laugh and found humor in life.

Survivors include her children, Gigi (Jim) Dodson of Tennessee, Glen (Heidi) Tinney of Colorado, Sharon (Jason) Kelly of Texas, James (Tracie Carls) Tinney of Texas; 12 grandchildren, Christopher, Megan, Michael, Courtlynn, Dylan, Jonathan, Kayla, Ian, Lorelai, Aiden, Lily, Ethan; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Sue (Billy), Dot (Evie), Robyn (Walter), Mary (Ray), and David (April). She is also survived by her beloved dogs, Bella and Gracie; and cat, Zara.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Reuben, and brother Dennis.
