George A. Griffin, age 86, of Silvis, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Lighthouse at Silvis.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
George was born January 9, 1927 in Newton, Iowa the son of Alva and Edna Clare Horn Griffin. He married Ruby E. Danielson on August 28, 1954 in Moline. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2013.
George was a technical writer with John Deere Harvester Works for 35 years retiring on October 29, 1982. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline where he enjoyed volunteering his service. George had a passion for working with his hands and loved woodworking. He also enjoyed his flower and vegetable gardens.
