George Gurik, 84, of Moline, died November 14, 2006 at Parkview Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2006 with a visitation one hour prior to service time at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Ave. Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #246, Moline. Memorials may be made to Association for Retarded Citizens 4601-53rd St. Moline, IL 61265.
George was born December 8, 1921 in Mansfield, OH to John and Mary Ballant Gurik. He married Dorothy Frick on December 17, 1944 in Mansfield, OH.
George was a WWII Navy veteran serving on U.S.S. Kearny DD 432. He was a carpenter for 30 years at Ericson Construction and Ken Curry Construction.
George was a member of the National Cross Bow Association and was inducted into the National Cross Bow Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the Moline Archery Club and Carpenter's Union Local 166, Rock Island.
