George S. Knaack, 79, of Moline died November 13, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be from Noon - 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Private graveside services will be at the National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
George was born February 26, 1928 in Moline to John and Mary (Scherer) Knaack. He married Antoinette "Clara" VanPoucke on July 2, 1955 in Moline.
George was an U.S. Army Veteran from 1950 to 1952. He was employed as a Teamster by Swiss Valley Farms retiring in 1988. George enjoyed fishing, Nascar, and golf. He was a prankster and joker who cared deeply for his family. George was kind to all and was always there to lend a helping hand. He also enjoyed the breakfast gang at Hy-Vee on Avenue of the Cities.
